Hello, all! My name is Kara. I’d like to introduce myself briefly, as I’m Gold Orchid 
Publishing’s new volunteer blog and social media assistant!
I’ve been a voracious reader ever since I was young. When playing soccer as a kid (which I was never much good at!) my parents motivated me to play well by offering me a book for every goal I could score. I didn’t score many goals, but I do remember spending my time on the sidelines daydreaming about the new books I wanted to add to my collection. Simply put, I’ve been a reader for as long as I can remember, and I feel the same way today as I did back then. A good book is a gateway into a brand new world. Literature is like a movie for the mind. Nothing is better than curling up with a good novel and a delicious cup of tea!
I’m currently a freelance writer from the United States living abroad in Germany. I spend my free time learning the German language and 
exploring the nation’s culture. Interests of mine include classic film, writing, painting, mountain biking, and vintage fashion. My favorite literary genres include non-fiction, biographies, classics, historical fiction, fantasy, and contemporary literature, but I’m open to reading pretty much anything and everything. If it sounds interesting, I’ll read it!
I do lots of freelance writing for websites all across the internet. If you need content for a website, blog, magazine, or other publication, I might be able to help you! I also really, really enjoy proofreading and editing texts, both fiction and non-fiction, so feel free to contact me if you’d like an extra set of eyes scanning your text before publication.
In the upcoming weeks I intend to post reviews of some of my favorite Gold Orchid publications! If you have any other suggestions for content you’d like to see on the GOP blog, please do let me know!
